Mascots European games in 2015
The organizers of the European Games 2015 in Baku presented today the official mascots of games - Gazelle and Pomegranate. As a symbol of Azerbaijani natural and cultural heritage, Gazelle is a symbol of beauty and elegance, and is a protected species in Azerbaijan. Pomegranate is a popular fruit, a symbol of life and energy.
The 2015 European Games in Baku will be held from 12 to 28 June 2015: in total, will be held 20 sports, of which 16 are Olympic kinds. More than 6,000 athletes from all over Europe will represent their country over 17 days of competition. Eleven of sports will be offered as qualifying events for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016: archery, athletics, boxing, cycling, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball and wrestling. -02D-
