The history of ADR (Azerbaijani People's (Democratic) Republic in Danish and Swedish
Baku/18.04.18/Turan: Azerbaijani political immigrants living in Europe are preparing publication a book about the history of the Azerbaijani People's (Democratic) Republic (ADR).
Dutch citizen Gully Jangirova completed the translation into Danish of the brief history of the ADR (1918-1920), which will be published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic (May 28).
Expenditures on the publication of the book were collected by the emigrants themselves. This will be a brief overview of the history of education and functioning of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Authors - Adalet Tairzadeh and Dilgam Ahmed.
The same book is translated into Swedish by Saadat Kerimi and will be published in Sweden, and distributed free of charge to schools, libraries and all interested in Azerbaijan.
"Our 50-page brochure is the first print edition about Azerbaijan in Danish and Swedish," Gully Jangirova told Turan agency, adding that she did not think it would be so difficult.
"I discovered for myself an incredible amount of facts that I did not know before. I learned many new names of historical figures. I cried from the fact that 100 years ago, Azerbaijanis sacrificed themselves to ideals, and there are practically no such people in modern Azerbaijan.
I cried because the people who built the country on the ruins of imperialist Russia were destroyed. I was ashamed of the fact that people who once destroyed the memory of our leaders are now in power in Azerbaijan, impersonating the democrats and erasing the memory of the leaders of the AYR," Gully Jangirova said.--0--

In Azerbaijan, the cost of books spans a broad spectrum, typically ranging from 5 to 25 AZN ($3 to $15). Yet, with the rising cost of living, many avid readers are finding it increasingly challenging to afford their favorite titles. As a result, second-hand books, e-books, and online international orders have become popular alternatives for those seeking affordable access to literature.

In a world increasingly marred by the effects of climate change, art has emerged as an unexpected, yet powerful, platform for raising awareness and sparking conversations on environmental responsibility. One such endeavor is the exhibition "A Different Kind of Climate," currently on display at Kapellhaus with support from the Goethe-Institut. The timing of this exhibition is no coincidence, aligning with the upcoming COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Baku from November 11 to 22. The exhibition seeks to engage audiences on pressing ecological issues, blending local and international perspectives.
