Protest Actions in Yerevan Do Not Cease
Yerevan / 18.04.18 / Turan: On Wednesday morning several thousand opposition demonstrators again blocked a number of central streets of Yerevan. According to TASS, the protesters are blocking all approaches to the Cabinet and building barrages.
Yesterday provocateurs staged a pogrom on Mashtots Avenue. "I officially declare that these people are not our supporters," the leader of the opposition party Civil Treaty, MP Nikol Pashinyan told reporters.
A group of young people wearing medical masks organized a pogrom on Mashtots Avenue in the center of Yerevan on Tuesday night. They made a fight with the police, smashed shop windows, and broke traffic lights and road signs. The police are investigating the fact.
Since April 13, the Armenian opposition has been holding mass protests against the appointment of Serzh Sargsyan as Prime Minister of the country.
On April 17, the day of Sargsyan's confirmation as the Prime Minister, the opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan said he was starting a "velvet revolution".
Pashinyan called on the residents of the country to gather at a rally on Republic Square in Yerevan at 19:00 on April 18. -02D-
