Access Cards Replace Traditional Permits for Transportation Services
Azerbaijan Adapts Regulatory Landscape: Access Cards Replace Traditional Permits for Transportation Services
The Cabinet of Ministers amended the "List of permits, the issuance, suspension, renewal, or cancellation of which must be notified to the tax authorities."
Prime Minister Ali Asadov, by signing the relevant decree, opened a new era of adaptation of legislation in Azerbaijan, which means a shift in the issuance of permits for transport services.
Effective immediately, the amendment introduces a notable departure from the traditional practice of issuing permit forms, distinctive signs, and special distinguishing signs for certain transportation services. The transformative measure now mandates the issuance of access cards for specific sectors, streamlining the regulatory process for international freight and irregular passenger transportation between Azerbaijan and foreign countries, registered domestic transportation, and passenger transportation by taxi. Additionally, permits will be granted for the operation of a taxi ordering operator.
This move aligns with broader efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency, and ease of operation within the transportation sector. The transition from physical permits to access cards is poised to simplify regulatory compliance for industry stakeholders, fostering a more agile and technology-driven framework.—0—
