Azerbaijan Approves New Rules for Market Participants in Strategic Goods

Azerbaijan has approved new regulations aimed at enhancing the monitoring of strategic goods and addressing sharp short-term price fluctuations in key commodities, according to a decree from the country’s Cabinet of Ministers.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved an agreement with Azerbaijan aimed at enhancing freight transportation along the North-South International Transport Corridor (ITC). The agreement, which was endorsed by the Russian government, seeks to improve the efficiency of transport links and expand the potential of the western route of the corridor.

The tax authority of Azerbaijan under the Ministry of Economy will no longer require citizens to present ID cards, according to a statement by the State Tax Service (STS).

The Serbian gas company Srbijagas, SOCAR, and Serbia's energy authorities met in Belgrade to discuss the construction of a gas power plant near the city of Niš, which could operate on Azerbaijani gas.
