Azerbaijan Introduces New Monitoring Rules for Strategic Goods Amid Price Fluctuations

On December 19, Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers has approved new regulations to strengthen oversight of market participants involved in strategic goods, with a focus on enhancing the country's state reserves system.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved an agreement with Azerbaijan aimed at enhancing freight transportation along the North-South International Transport Corridor (ITC). The agreement, which was endorsed by the Russian government, seeks to improve the efficiency of transport links and expand the potential of the western route of the corridor.

The tax authority of Azerbaijan under the Ministry of Economy will no longer require citizens to present ID cards, according to a statement by the State Tax Service (STS).

The Serbian gas company Srbijagas, SOCAR, and Serbia's energy authorities met in Belgrade to discuss the construction of a gas power plant near the city of Niš, which could operate on Azerbaijani gas.
