Azerbaijan Imports Four Million Tons of Gasoline AI-92
In the next 3-4 days Azerbaijan will import gasoline AI-92 in the amount of 4 million tons, said the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
According to Turan, the need for imports of gasoline AI-92 is due to the repair work at the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev.
"Before the repair the volume of gasoline AI-92 produced at the plant fully satisfied the needs of the domestic market and enabled the creation of a certain reserve," the company said.
The SOCAR said that as of August 16 the average consumption in Azerbaijan was 3,900 tons per day, and this was achieved thanks to the reserve.
"Currently, there is a reserve for 8-10 days. Given the fact that after some time the created stock will not be enough to meet the needs of the domestic market, SOCAR appealed to the government to release gasoline AI-92 of the customs tariff and excise tax," SOCAR reported.
According to the decision of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers dated August 16, with the exception of aviation fuel, the excise tax for every ton of motor gasoline has been decreased from AZN 200 to AZN 1.
The Cabinet also decided to reduce the customs tariff on gasoline with an octane rating of 92 from 15% to 0%
Both decisions will remain in effect for 60 days. ----74D
