Azerbaijan imports from Estonia 30 times more than exports
The difference between imports and exports in the mutual trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Estonia is nearly thirty-fold. In January - August this year from the Baltic country Azerbaijan imported goods worth $ 3,8 million and it exported goods totaling $ 135 300 there. By September 1 last year there was imported more ($ 6,31 million) and exported also more ($ 476,630 ).
These figures were stated at the second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Estonian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Tallinn by Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov and Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia Urve Palo.
According to the report the Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan, the local delegation included representatives from the ministries of energy, taxes, foreign affairs, economy and industry, education, culture and tourism, as well as the Central Bank and the State Agency for the provision of services to citizens and social innovation in the Presidency.

Azerbaijan’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils climbed 23.9% by weight and 16.2% by value from January to September 2024, official data revealed. Despite the uptick in volume, the import cost of these products saw a decrease compared to the same period last year, with the cost per ton of vegetable oil falling by 6.1% to $1,199.6 in 2024, down from $1,278.6 in 2023.
