In the third quarter of this year, LLC Baku Steel Company (BSC) exported 12,467 tons of semi-finished steel to Iran.
As is clear from the customs statistics of Azerbaijan for 9 months of this year, the product was exported at a price close to the world price - $ 470 per ton. In our country BSC offers goods for $ 231 more expensive - 590 manat, or $ 720. The company did not provide information on export activity, noting only that the decline of the sales prices in November "opens the door for the export of goods to Russia, Georgia and Turkmenistan."
Iran is a longtime trading partner of BSC. In 2013, the country bought 86,600 tons of Azerbaijani steel from BSC at a price $ 488.9 / t. In the previous year the export was 19 800 tons more. However, in 2012, steel was shipped to Iran at $ 526.9 per ton or 7.7% more expensive.
Over three quarters of this year the volume of production of steel castings in Azerbaijan amounted to 245,000 tons, an increase of 78%. The annual capacity of BSC is 1.1 million tons. The company did not provide information on its own production.
Note that complete statistics of the assortment of steel products made in Azerbaijan is absent. Baku Steel Company Ltd. declares that it produces all the required market kinds of steel rebar, except iron sheets. For the first nine months of this year the volume of imports of steel and iron products into Azerbaijan amounted to 380 000 tons. --08B--
