EBRD helps Azerbaijani consultants toimprove their business management skills
Fifteen consulting companies from Azerbaijan attend a three-day workshop from 3-5December, organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and funded by the European Union. The training will focus on managing a consulting business forconsultants, building the capacity of local consultants in Azerbaijanand enhancing the quality of services they deliver to local businesses. The course will be held by Vladimir Chernyavsky, a trainer from St. Peterburg, in close cooperation with EBRD Small Business Support team.
The EBRD’s Small Business Support team works with local consultants in Azerbaijan to improve their skills and know-how, equipping them to deliver quality projects for small and medium-sized businesses and expand the specialist areas they cover.
“Management training will help consultants to strengthen their business and to provide better services to small and medium enterprises,” explains Lala Rzayeva, EBRD Small Business Support team National Programme Manager in Azerbaijan.
The workshops will help consultantsto define the vision and the strategies for their businesses, strengthen the consultants’ ability to understand and address the organisational challenges, learn about best practices in management and provide the participants with management tools and practical techniques specific to the consultancy industry.The workshop is a part of specialised training courses for consultants that shares essential skills, resources and techniques for effective and impactful consulting as well as for running a successful consulting business.
Sponsored by the European Union and the EBRD, the workshop is part of an on-going effort to create a thriving consultancy market to support small and medium-sized enterprisesin Azerbaijan. Since starting work in Azerbaijan in 1993, the EBRD has helped over 700 enterprises access consulting know-how to help them develop and grow. The European Union has provided €3.7 million to support this work since 2003

According to official statistics from Azerbaijan, bilateral trade in 2023 reached 3.1 billion US dollars.
