Azerbaijanis buy real estate in Turkey
Baku/29.08.19/Turan: In 2019, all records were broken in the number of purchases of real estate in Turkey by foreigners. According to the Turkish Statistics Office, since the beginning of 2019, foreigners have bought 24,144 residential properties, by 64.5% more than in the first seven months of 2018.
Most of the properties were sold in Istanbul -11 thousand. Housing in Ankara, Bursa and other cities is also popular. The most popular resort is Antalya, where foreigners have bought 4857 properties since the beginning of this year.
The most active buyers this year were Iraqi citizens who bought more than 4 thousand objects.
In second place are the Iranians - 2666 objects. Russian buyers take the third place - 1479 objects.
The activity of Azerbaijani citizens against this background looks modest: in 2019, they bought 623 apartments in Turkey, which is by 28% more than the same period last year. For the whole of 2018, Azerbaijanis bought 1,250 apartments in Turkey.
In 2018, foreigners bought 40 044 apartments in Turkey, which is 78.5% more than in 2017. -02D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
