Baku Hosts Exhibition of Food Industry
Today, May 19 in Baku Expo Center opened the 22nd exhibition Food Industry – World Food Azerbaijan 2016.
At the opening ceremony, the Executive Director of Iteca Caspian Farid Mammadov said the exhibition shows 11% rise and in its composition 67% are foreign participants. This year's exhibitions World Food Azerbaijan and Caspian Agro are attended by 309 companies from 34 countries of the world. Among them are Belarus, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Netherlands, UAE, Russia, Czech Republic and other countries. At the same time more than 20 companies came to the exhibition from Turkey
State Tea Committee Sri Lanka Tea Board heads the group of companies from Sri Lanka.
Most active are the local manufacturers and distributors, amounting to 25% of the total number of exhibitors. Among them are leading companies of the food sector of the country, permanent participants of the exhibition, Azersun Holding, Atena, Caspian Construction Systems, Gilan Holding, and Metak. The exhibition is a debut for Amoris, Buta Group, and Modern Group. The exhibitors from Azerbaijan, the U.A.E., Russia, Turkey and Ukraine will present equipment for manufacturing and design of packaging, marking equipment, packaging materials, containers and finished packaging for various industries.
The show has been visited by the Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Brown, Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Otar Danelia, Senator and Special Envoy for the Netherlands Energy Rene Van Der Linden, and the head of the Agrarian Reform and the Study of International Experience Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan Kerim Saparov.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
