BP was the main sponsor of the first European Games 2015

The multinational company BP signed an agreement today with the Operations Committee first European Games - 2015 (BEGOC) cooperation. The oil giant, according to organizers cautious statement, was one of the main sponsors of the upcoming competitions. The agreement was signed by Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, CEO BEGOC Azad Rahimov and vice-president of BP in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Ian Sutherland. Under the agreement, BP will not only oil and gas partner of the first games of the Old World, but also will support training elite athletes in Azerbaijan.

Operating Committee BEGOC plans to sign in the near future cooperation agreements with five or six large companies with an interest in sponsoring the Euro Games - added the CEO. According to Ian Sutherland, an important agreement meant that the Committee scored cruising preparations for the games, although in this direction they have already done a lot of work. "Azerbaijan is a good chance to prove that he is capable of receiving the largest international events, including sports, and become one of the world centers in this area. We supported the participation of the Azerbaijani team at the London Olympics, as well as extending cooperation with the national Olympic and Paralympic committees Azerbaijan 2016," he said.

Recall competition will be held in Baku on 12-28 June 2015. Games will be held in 19 different sports, including 16 Olympic-type. Nine sports (archery, athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and triathlon) contest will be licensed to the Summer Olympic Games - 2016, which will take place in the Brazilian metropolis of Rio de Janeiro.
