Center for Economic Research described the June figure of deflation
Public Association Center of Economic Research (CER) published the results of alternative statistical surveys of consumer prices from June to July. Also, they took into account the results from the beginning of the year and the comparison period in the past year. This is an objective indicator calculated from the international system of calculating the relative amount of risk (VAR).
As the executive director Ghalib Togrul said, last month, again there was an increase in prices. Observations were conducted in 10 regions of the country (last year it was 22).
According to them, in the first month of summer, consumer prices in Azerbaijan as a whole decreased by 0.29%, which is typical this time of year. Interestingly, in Baku, prices fell by 0.9%, and in the regions - by 0.39%.
On the food the drop was at 0.61%, that is, in Baku - 0.43% and in the country - 0.79%. On non-food items the recorded price increase was at 0.03% - +0.04% in Baku and +0.02% in the regions. Fees for services changed insignificantly - in the capital the recorded increase was at 0.17% and in the regions the index increased 0.16%.
Since the beginning of the year recorded a relative increase in consumer prices by 0.11% (+ 1.30% in the capital and +1.06% in the regions). Food rose in price by 0.05%, services - 1.66%, and non-food items fell by 0.96%.
Food inflation for the twelve months compared to the same period last year amounted to 6.58%. Food prices grew by 10.46%, nonfood goods - by 0.18%, and services - by 4.85%.
