Corporation Accord plans to enter this year"s projected capacity
LLC Gazakh Cement Plant has announced plans to produce 1 million tons of cement this year. According to specialists , this year the need for this type of building material can be satisfied at the expense of domestic production .
The cement factory in the village of Dash Salahli Gazakh region belongs to JSC Construction and Industrial Investment Corporation Accord. The company , with a capacity of 1 million tons of cement per year, was commissioned last summer. Its construction was invested 250 million manat, told Turan the press service of the corporation.
The plant produces four types of cement under the brand name Accord Cement.
In 2013, Azerbaijan produced more than 2 million tons of cement. It should be noted that last year the country's dependence on imported cement remained high . For the year it was imported 1,284,394.8 tons of cement a total declared value of $ 94 930.5 thousand. In addition, local producers brought from abroad 1,295,824.8 tons of clinker ( $ 57 738.2 million) , the main component for the production of cement.
Just this year, the power of three main cement producers (Holcim Azerbaijan JSC, Norm LLC and Gazakh Sement Zavodu LLC) will be 4.7 million tons, which will fully satisfy the local demand for cement. Besides them there are still a few small producers (Azbentonit, Qaradag-AND, etc.).
It is noteworthy that , despite an increase in domestic production , prices in retail remain stable. Although it was previously argued that with the advent of the new capacity the cement prices in Azerbaijan would decrease by about 20%. Cement prices have not changed since 2005. A bag of cement (40 kg), depending on the brand is offered at a price 5.7-6.3 manat. - 08B -
