Decision has been made to accelerate economic development of territories liberated from occupation
Baku/24.10.22/Turan: At a meeting led by the Chairman of the Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Ali Asadov on October 21, the implementation of measures aimed at accelerating economic development in the liberated territories, including the mechanism for encouraging investment here, was discussed.
The agenda of the Economic Council also included issues on the activities of the Alyat Free Economic Zone, projects to amend a number of laws ("Migration Code of the Republic of Armenia" and "On Banks"), on the redemption of a part of government bonds denominated in foreign currency in circulation and topical issues related to the Non-Bank Credit Organization "Aqrarkredit" CJSC.
The meeting heard reports from Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Valeh Aleskerov, Head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov, Chairman of the Board of "Aqrarkredit" CJSC Mammad Musayev.
The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers informs that following the results of the meeting, decisions were made on a number of projects related to accelerating economic development in the territories liberated from occupation and other issues; instructions were given to the appropriate structures for their implementation. No text and content of the adopted decisions have yet been announced.
As of December 31, 2021, "Aqrarkredit" had assets worth 11 billion 685 million manats ($6 billion 823 million). The Government's obligations on interest-bearing government bonds in foreign currency at the time of their issue (2017) amounted to 2 billion 337.1 million US dollars. -08B-
