During 10 years capacity of Baku’s power distribution system doubled
During the past 10 years total capacity of Baku’s electric networks increased from 3048 up to 6200 MWt, reported Azerishig, state monopoly distributing power in Azerbaijan.
“During the past 10 years technical losses in the electric networks of the city dropped from 16.9% to 7.8%. The deficit of capacity and excessive loads have been eliminated. The system of power supply with 110 Kv power has been created in Azerbaijan for the first time,” said the same source.
During 10 years of reforms in the Azerbaijani electric energy distribution system 30 units of 110 KV sub-stations, 225.5 km of high voltage air power lines and 226.9 km of high voltage cable have been built, 384,870 supports of the high voltage lines and over 1.32 million of new electric meters have been installed.
“During six months, 2016 technical losses in Azerishig’s regional power networks losses decreased to 10.4%. Capacity of Azerbaijan’s power system increased up to 11,011 MWt and until the end of the year it is planned to increase this index up to 12,056 MWt,” said the same source.
