Energy Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Balkan Countries to Discuss Gas Pipeline Projects in Istanbul
The Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev will visit Turkey on a working visit, reported the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
Aliyev will participate in the XXIII International Energy Congress, which will be held in Istanbul on October 9-13. The visit is at the invitation of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Berat Albayrak, said the Ministry.
The Congress will be attended by the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, as well as 266 delegates from 80 countries.
The Congress includes 60 meetings and is dedicated to the theme Access to New Frontiers.
During the event Aliyev is also scheduled to meet with the Energy Ministers of the Balkan countries.
"During the meeting with the Ministers of Turkey, Greece, Italy and Albania, the progress of work will be discussed under the project of Southern Gas Corridor and current issues related to the timely completion of this project," the Ministry said.
The project Southern Gas Corridor provides transportation of the Caspian gas produced within the Shah Deniz Field Development Phase 2 to Europe through Turkey. -12D-

Azerbaijan appears poised for a notable economic shift in 2024, according to projections from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Inflation, a persistent thorn in the side of policymakers in 2023, is set to cool significantly, with the average annual rate expected to fall to 3.5%, compared with a high of 8.8% last year.
