Import of Wheat Decreased by 14.8%
In the first half of 2016 Azerbaijan purchased abroad 682.7 thousand tons of wheat (including seed wheat), which is 117.7 thousand tons or 14.8% less than in the same period of 2015. Turan was told in the State Statistics Committee.
Food, fodder and seed wheat was delivered from Russia - 610.4 thousand tons, Kazakhstan - 18.3 thousand tons and Ukraine - 8.9 tons.
Only in April-June, Azerbaijan purchased 471.8 thousand tons of wheat.
If the first half of 2015 wheat was purchased abroad at the price of $ 234.3 per ton and for the same period this year the index was $ 189.1 per ton. However, in July bakeries raised the price of bread and bakery products by approximately 20-25%, referring to the increase in wholesale prices of grain, as well as electricity and water drain services. -----08B

In 2024, Azerbaijan's "Single Window" Export Support Center processed 1,747 requests from businesses and individuals, facilitating the issuance of 3,982 export certificates. According to Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, these efforts supported export operations valued at USD 288.2 million.
