Imports of fish declined by 22.5%

In the first half of this year to Azerbaijan were imported 3 447.5 tons of fish, which is about 1,000 tons, or by 22.5% less than in the same period of 2014, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.

Declared imports amounted to $ 2.811.500, or $388.700, less than in the first half of 2014. A kilogram of fish is made overseas customs an average of $0,815. During the same period last year, the fish was declared in order to attract a customs tax of $ 0.719 / kg.

Register of certificates of compliance with imported fishery products is carried out by the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent. However, in this registry information is available only on the import of fish from Poland on the network side fast-food company "McDonalds Azerbaijan".

Monopoly subject of imports of fish to Azerbaijan is LLC "Caspian Fish co. Azerbaijan "(part of the group of companies "AzGroup".) Imports of fish, according to the State Customs Committee is mainly from Russia, Iceland, Chile, Turkey and Norway.

During the mentioned period the volume of imports remained stable fish products and canned goods. Were purchased abroad in 1893 tones (-0.6%) finished seafood worth $2.266.000 (3.2%). Importers of canned fish are LLC "Serheng-G" and "Veyseloglu."

According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2014 the level of dependence on imports of fish and fish products in Azerbaijan amounted to 27.2%, which is 1.2 points less than in 2013.

According to the SSC, in 2014 in the form of food it has been used 67,828 tons of fish, which is 2.6% less than in 2013; imports totaled 18,748 tons of fish. Imports declined by 7.1%. It is noteworthy that the State Customs Committee reports only about 16,930 tons of fish, seafood and their products. The State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture revealed lack of 1818 tones. The talk is about not paying customs taxes in the amount of at least $5 million.

For the production of non-food products in 2014 were sent  854 tons of fish. There I no exports of fishery products. In 2007, Azerbaijan exported abroad about 900 tons of fish processing products.

The annual rate of consumer fish and fish products in Azerbaijan is 7.7 kg per capita, what means that in a year  Azerbaijan should consume 73,000 tons of fish and fish products. 08B
