Installing POS-Terminals in Azerbaijan to Be Completed in 2015
The Cabinet approved new rules in connection with POS-terminals. According to the innovation, the installation of non-cash payment services in Baku, Sumgait and Ganja is to be completed by the end of this year.
In the Absheron district and also in 17 cities and regional centers (Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Guba, Lankaran, Shamakhi, Sabirabad, Salyan, etc.) the installation of POS-terminals is to be completed in 2013. In 2014, other areas will be also covered, and in 2015 POS-terminals will be equipped with all the localities of the country.
Terminals are to be installed at the facilities, whose turnover is 2,000 AZN per month, facilities subject to VAT, specialized facilities for the sale of cars and furniture, sports and health centers, health facilities, recreation and entertainment, hotels, homes celebrations, ticketing for all types of passenger vehicles.
As of the 15th of July in Azerbaijan POS-terminals were equipped with 36.5 thousand objects.
The Cabinet of Ministers has instructed all concerned government agencies to carry out the necessary work to pay taxes and services by means of payment cards. - 08D-

In recent days, there have been claims that bread prices in Azerbaijan have risen. Social media users report that the price of bread has increased by 5-10 qepiks. According to consumer complaints, it is difficult to find weight information on factory-produced bread, commonly known as "zavod çörəyi" in Azerbaijan. In many cases, bread packaging does not include weight details. Similarly, bread sold at smaller bakeries and tandir houses often lacks information apart from the price.

A trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers, transport ministers, energy ministers, and heads of customs services of Russia, Iran, and Azerbaijan is set to take place soon to discuss the progress of the Rasht-Astara railway project, a key element of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).
