Specialized Trades to Buy Shares Four Times Lower than the Nominal
The State Property Committee has published the results of a specialized fifth cash auction for sale of three small companies privatized through corporatization.
The auction was held on 17-21 September at the Auction Center for organizing trading in Baku and five zonal offices of the center. Due to the low level of awareness, the number of participants in the auction was low. A total of 230 applications were received.
Put up for the auction were 55% of three regional companies in industries, construction and transport. All investors offered 99.8 thousand shares. Applications accompanied by cash in the amount of 52 610. manats. Thus, investors paid for each of the shares, par value of which was determined at 2 manat, on average, 0.55 manat.
Specialized cash auctions in 2011 replaced the voucher auctions, in which the last 5 years, as a rule, were exposed stocks of unattractive companies. It is noteworthy that today privatization shares (1 share - 4 checks) are still a subject of sale, which is provided for three manat. - 08B -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
