Inter Rail Holding AG Interested in Cooperation with Azerbaijan Railways in Transport Corridor North-South
In the city of Zurich (Switzerland), the delegation of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways headed by its Chairman Javid Gurbanov met with the Chairman of the company Inter Rail Holding AG Hans Reinhard. The main topic of the conversation was the involvement of Swiss goods in transportation by the international transport corridors North-South and South-West on the territory of Azerbaijan.
“Our main task is to use the favorable geographical location of Azerbaijan to bring transit cargo to the international transport corridor by passing through the territory of the country and the routes from Central Asia to Europe and vice versa. In order to attract traffic to these routes all possibilities are mobilized,” said Gurbanov.
The Chairman of the JSC noted the close links with the Swiss Stadler Rail Group. The double-decker trains made by the company ply the route Baku-Sumgait. CJSC Azerbaijani Railways ordered Stadler 30 sleeping cars for trains, which in the future will run on the route Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.
Hans Reinhard said his company is interested in boosting the transport corridor North-South and strategic cooperation with the Azerbaijani Railways in this direction.
