ISB paid only 11.5 thousand manats in connection with the death of two people and wounding one person
The Bureau of Compulsory Insurance (ISB) paid regular compensation totaling 11,500 manat in connection with the deaths of two people injured in road accidents, according to a press release from the Bureau.
The first accident happened January 26, 2013 in the Khazar district of Baku, as a result of which one person died. His family received compensation in the amount of 5,000 manat.
The second accident occurred July 21, 2012 in Garadagh district of the capital, killing one person and injured another. The family of the deceased was paid 5,000 manats and the injured man was paid 1,500 manat.
"Compensation was paid on July 8, 2014 in non-cash (by mail)," the report says.
As previously reported, in H1 of 2014, ISB paid compensation totaling 73,260 manat to the victims and families of those killed in road accidents in Azerbaijan.
Compulsory Insurance Bureau was created under the law "On mandatory types of insurance." The Bureau members are currently 15 local insurance companies.
Membership fee for the insurance companies who want to become founders and start the Bureau is 200,000 manat.
Dimensions of a single deposit for members of the Bureau are different. For the compulsory insurance of real estate and responsibility of its owners, as well as disability insurance of individuals from accidents and occupational diseases it is 100,000 manat. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has introduced new 3-qapik coins. Previously, updated coins of 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 qapik denominations were also issued. According to the bank's press service, the reverse side of the new coin features the emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the year of minting, while other design elements and technical specifications remain unchanged. The new 3-qapik coins will circulate alongside the existing currency.
