Since yesterday, the wholesale company for marketing cigarettes suspended deliveries to the stores, on the shelves of which there are dairy products from the company Danone. Traders say that the acts of unfair competition come from the persons who, in September of this year came to the local market of dairy products under the brand name Milla.
Representatives of the suppliers issued an ultimatum: "Either you sell only Milla, or do not get cigarettes." According to small businesses, the import, production and sale of cigarettes, and the mark Milla belong to the family of the emergency situations minister Kamaladdin Heydarov.
The company Atropatena, which is the distributor of Danone products in Azerbaijan, confirmed the fact of pressure for Turan and said it was done by their competitors.
The Chairman of the Association of Free Consumers Eyyub Huseynov expressed his dissatisfaction with this fact. "No matter who and with what intention has initiated these actions, it is aimed primarily at limiting consumer choice and access to high-quality products," said Huseynov.
Unfair competition is a gross misdemeanor and is punishable by administrative penalties. Meanwhile the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection does not comment on what is happening. - 08B-
