Number of calls to FMS increased last year by 35.7 %
In the Financial Monitoring Service ( FMS ) under the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in December 2012 they received 41,100 information items on suspicious and current transactions, which is 22 % more than the previous month.
According to the service, during the past year they received 352,596 calls. Compared to January-December 2012 the figure rose by 92.73 thousand units , or 35.7 percent.
Financial Monitoring Service operates since 2009 and is the body which carries out government policy in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing. - 15B -
