Official Number of Unemployed Growing
According to the State Statistics Committee, by 1 October of 2016 the able-bodied population of Azerbaijan was 4 million 978.3 thousand people at the employment of 4 million 731.4 thousand people. In comparison with indicators of the end of H1 of the year, the number of unemployed people increased by 2.7 thousand. The figures were announced by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Salim Muslimov about the decline in the banking sector.
According to the Ministry of Labor, the employment service officially registered 33,803 unemployed people, of which 6,194 receive social welfare benefits (the average is 247.3 manat or minus 15 manat to the beginning of the year. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
