On December 15 Azerbaijan Received 264 German Pedigree Cows
On December 15 Azerbaijan got another batch (264) of German Holstein Frieze breed cows. The first batch of cattle in the same amount has been already distributed among farmers, reported today the Ministry of Agriculture.
Purchase of livestock is carried out pursuant to presidential decree on the improvement of pedigree animals from 6 June this year, according to which a contract was concluded for the purchase of 7,160 head of cattle in Germany. The households that will supply breeding cows to Azerbaijan have been visited by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and the customers.
Recall in the summer of this year, President Ilham Aliyev allocated from the state budget reserve AZN 13.5 million to state-run Agroleasing and on November 20 he allocated 10 million AZN for the purchase of breeding stock.
The breeding stock purchased in Europe is available to farmers for three-year lease for 50% of the purchase price.
In 2009-2013, at the expense of the same source there were purchased 10,590 head of cattle and small ruminants. A number of private livestock farms were formed.
JSC Agroleasing was established in 2004 with a 100% equity interest of the state. Since 2009, it is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture. --08D--
