The local mobile operator Bakcell plans to cover the entire territory of the Apsheron peninsula with the superfast network LTE (4G) by April 1, 2016. This will allow the company to extend service to the 98.75% of the peninsula, increasing the network capacity by 2.5 times.
According to the report by Bakcell, for that within six months they will install 600 additional 4G stations, thereby increasing the total number of LTE base stations in Apsheron to 1 thousand. It will also consider the possibility of deploying 4G in other regions of the country.
According to the company, due to 400 base stations LTE it is the largest and leading operator of 4G network in Azerbaijan. The report emphasizes that on the results of several independent control tests and tests conducted in the country in 2015, Bakcell, having more than 5.3 thousand base stations, occupies a leading position in the market on the quality of the network and the application of new technologies.
