Russian import of cars in Azerbaijan reduced
Russia's share in imports of cars into Azerbaijan is decreasing every year, and this is mostly caused by the introduction of environmental regulations on emissions of pollutants from motor vehicles in 2012.
According to the State Statistics Committee , in 2013 Azerbaijan dealers and distributors supplied 8,398 Russian cars with total declared value of $ 69 million. This is 10.3 % of imports of new cars in the country last year .
In the recent past , the figure was 50%. In 2007 from Russia to Azerbaijan was delivered 15195 cars, reported Russian Trade Representation in Baku. According to the SCC, in 2007 Azerbaijan was delivered over 34 thousand cars with a total value of $ 278.9 million.
Russian cars are declared to customs at an average of $ 8220. This is 0.4% more than in 2007.
The main importer of cars from Russia to Azerbaijan is JSC Khazar-Lada, one of the shareholders is the Russian Auto VAZ.
According to the environmental standard Euro 4 that entered from April 1st and is applicable to motor vehicles, cars made in 2013 and later can be delivered from Russia. --0--
