Since the beginning of 2014, employees become 16 000 fewer
The processes occurring in the labor market in Azerbaijan are difficult to explain: the government says about the opening of 29,000 new jobs in the first quarter, while at the same time reducing the number of workers hides employment for 16,000 people.
As of March 1, the total number of employed persons in Azerbaijan amounted to 1 494.1 thousand people, 16 thousand less than at the beginning of the year. By the first of April this year, the number of economically active population reached 4,765,900 people, of whom only 236,000 are considered unemployed. The rest are ranked by the State Statistics Committee to engage in employment to population.
Controlling labor and tax laws, state agencies routinely allege facts about the legalization of their work places. In the first quarter of this year, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection provided labor contracts with 2,951 illegal employees. The Ministry of Taxes revealed 2,178 facts without engaging the conclusion of the individual employment contract.
Within two months of this year the number of employees in the public sector (989 100 people) decreased by 2,100 people and in the private sector (596,000 people) it reduced by 13,900 people.
The number of jobs in Azerbaijan this year grew by individuals. Since the beginning of the Ministry of Taxes has registered more than 22,000 business entities with the status of an individual. However, how many of them actually work and pay taxes is not reported. - 08D -
