SOCAR Opens Summer School - 2016
On Monday SOCAR Summer School 2016 started in Baku, the SOCAR press office reported.
The First Vice-President of SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh noted in his speech that this year the number of participants in the project amounted to 30 people.
‘This year 702 people have applied for participation in the project SOCAR Summer School, but in the first and second rounds of the selection 30 people were given the right to participate in it, including 18 students and 12 employees of SOCAR,’ he said.
The project of SOCAR Summer School 2016 will last until 28 August. The school program includes discussions and workshops on topics related to all areas of the energy sector: geology and geophysics of oil and gas deposits, drilling technology, oil and gas production, transportation and storage, environmental standards and alternative energy sources, the sale of petroleum products, the formation of oil prices, and others. -0-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
