SOCAR plans to build new platform on Guneshli field
The Ecology Department of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been working on the evaluation of impact of a new deep-water offshore platform No 7 on the Guneshli field on environment.
SOCAR reported that the platform will be built by Neftegasstroi and it will be designed by SOCAR’s Scientific Institute.
The same source said that the Ecology Department has conducted monitoring on the Guneshli field. The monitoring results have been used to define the measures to be taken to reduce negative impact on environment.
The plan of environment management for each big section of the project has been also drafted.
Guneshli field is being developed since 1980. The field ensures up to 65% of entire SOCAR’s oil production.—0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
