Staff of Ministry of Economy and Industry increased by 50 units
Baku/21.02.14/Turan : President Ilham Aliyev approved on February 20, Regulations of the Ministry of Economy and Industry ( MEI ) , whereby the number of deputy head of the agency increased from three to five , staff unit increased from 334 to 384 .
The staff of workers of the organizations within its structure remained unchanged . In total, 692 people will work in MEI.
MEI was established on the basis of Ministry of Economic Development October 22, 2013 by presidential decree.
According to the Regulations , the MEI is the economic policymaker, provides economic and social forecasts for the country and carries out state policy and regulation in the areas of economic development , including industry, investment policy , attraction, attachment and protection of investment, protection, development and promotion of competition, elimination of unfair competition, and consumer protection. The ministry's functions also include the implementation of internal and external trade policy , socio- economic development of regions and countries in the sphere of housing and communal services.
Baku Business Centre derived from the structure of the MEI. The structure comprises the central office of the Ministry, its regional offices (86 employees), the National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support (50 employees) , the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection ( 172 employees). Under MEI acts the Institute of Economic Reforms .
By law, MEI has a single register of licenses granted to business entities for the implementation of specific activities . - 08D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
