Tariff Increases Amid Antimonopoly Investigation Reflect Broader Systemic Issues

On Monday, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, where a delegation led by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Health Alexander Starovoitov met with Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev. The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.

In the first seven months of 2024, Azerbaijan's legumes and grain production experienced a modest increase, according to recent data from the State Statistics Committee. As of August 1, 2024, the total harvest of grain and leguminous crops, including corn, reached 2.935 million tons, reflecting a 1.2% rise from the previous year.

Azerbaijan, traditionally known for its oil and gas exports, has made a strategic shift towards green energy as part of its commitment to diversify its energy portfolio and align with global sustainability goals. The government is focusing on alternative energy sources while conserving traditional fuels such as fuel oil and natural gas used in power plants.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, met with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Cotton Producers Association on August 19 in an attempt to address the pressing issues facing the country’s cotton sector.
