Turkish experts will hold a workshop on the application of the standard "Halal"
State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents (SCSMP) will hold a training seminar on April 17-19 for enterprises producing meat products claiming compliance with national standards of food products "halal."
While in Azerbaijan, there is no company that has a certificate of compliance with these standards, although the electronic media is wide advertising of products produced by the alleged principles of "halal".
Press Secretary of SCSMP Fazil Talibov said Turan that the seminar was organized by the Experimental Testing Entity AzTEST at this agency. For the course they invited an expert on meat products that meet the principles of the Islamic religion from Turkey's Selcuk University, Mustafa Karakaya.
In 2012, Azerbaijan adopted two national standards defining the requirements for food products that meet the demands of the "halal": AZS 731 - 2012 (OICSMIIC1: 2011) "Food halal. General requirements "and AZS 372-2012" Halal Meats. General requirements for the production, transportation, storage and sale. "
At present, almost all the companies involved in the production of meat products claim conformance to the standards of "halal". Applications from some of them are under consideration and evaluation. - 08D-

According to consumer complaints, it is difficult to find weight information on factory-produced bread, commonly known as "zavod çörəyi" in Azerbaijan. In many cases, bread packaging does not include weight details. Similarly, bread sold at smaller bakeries and tandir houses often lacks information apart from the price.
