Will Vocational Education Center Move Vocational Training from Zero?
The World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan opened a vocational training center in Baku.
According to the information of the ministry, the reconstruction of the institution was funded by WB. The opening of the center acting under the Public Employment Service was attended by the Labor Minister Salim Muslimov and the head of the local branch of the World Bank Larisa Leshchenko.
According to Muslimov, learning at the center will involve 3,786 unemployed people and job seekers. The reconstruction allowed increasing the number of classrooms and workshops from 7 to 23. Every year, it will be able to train up to 2 thousand men.
According to the Ministry of Education (http://www.edu.gov.az/view.php?lang=ru&menu=339&id=1709), in Azerbaijan more than 20,000 future artisans learn 130 special courses in 58 secondary specialized educational institutions.
