In the second quarter of 2025 BP, the operator of gas and condensate production at the Caspian "Shah Deniz" field, plans to launch a project to build a special compressor platform for extracting additional gas from the contract area, Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, Vice President of BP-Azerbaijan for Communications and External Affairs in the Caspian region told journalists.

In January-July of this year, 22,771 thousand tons of oil were transported through pipelines in Azerbaijan, by 1.32% more than in the previous year. According to the monthly report of the State Statistics Committee, 75.4% of the transportation was conducted through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) export pipeline, with 17,167 thousand tons of oil being pumped through this pipeline, a decrease of 2.5% compared to the previous year.

Kazakhstan increased maritime oil transportation through exports via Azerbaijan in the first half of 2024, according to the half-year report of JSC "KazMunayGas" (the national oil and gas company). During the reporting period, the volume of maritime oil transportation increased by 26.4 percent, reaching 6.618 million tons.
