Azerbaijani banks bought about 7 billion dollars at auctions this year

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijani banks purchased currency worth $6,603.9 million at auctions held jointly by the Central Bank and the State Oil Fund. This was reported by the Central Bank. According to the data, it is up by 2 times from the same period of 2023. In November alone, the purchase of currency by banks totalled $487.1 million. This is up by 14.1% from a year ago.
