Who is entitled to get student loans?
Baku/17.09.21/Turan: The student loans will be issued since the beginning of October.
In 2021, about 40.000 students will be able to receive loans for studying at the bachelor's and master's degrees.This was evidenced on September 17 by the head of the department of the Ministry of Education, Nijat Mammadli, at a training for mass media organized by the said department and the Media Development Agency.
There will be two types of student loans – social and standard.
Note that the first type of loans will be issued to students from socially sensitive categories of the population.
In particular, these loans can be used by young people from families receiving targeted social assistance, as well as persons with disabilities.
Besides, social loans will be issued to students who have no both parents, or those who having one parent who is registered as unemployed, or receives an old-age pension or social benefits.
Students from other categories can receive standard loans.
At the same time, the criteria for having the right to receive a student loan in the first semester is a minimum point set by the Board of Trustees at the admission exam.
As for other semesters, the criterion for obtaining a loan will be 71 points in the previous examination session.
Another condition for obtaining a loan is that a student himself pays at least 20 percent of the payment for his education.
Note that the Student Loan Fund was set up in June this year with an authorized fund of 80 million manats.—06D-
