The Netherlands decided to transfer six more F-16 fighters to Ukraine
интерфакс: The Dutch Ministry of Defense has decided to prepare for the transfer of an additional six F-16 fighters to Ukraine, the Kingdom's Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said on Monday.
Her words are quoted by European media.
In December, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the Dutch government had decided to prepare 18 F-16 fighter jets for subsequent transfer to Kyiv.
The F-16 is an American fourth-generation multipurpose light fighter aircraft that has been in operation since 1978. It is considered the most popular fourth-generation fighter; in total, more than 4.6 thousand aircraft were built, it is in service with 25 countries, and was actively used in the NATO operation against Yugoslavia and conflicts in the Middle East.
