Yanukovich announces before time presidential elections
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych announced an early presidential election. The statement wasfound on the official website of the President . The President also initiated the restoration of the Constitution of the 2004. " a redistribution of powers towards a parliamentary republic."
In addition , the President called on the political forces to begin the formation of "a national trust government." The statements does not read whether the before time elections to the Verkhovna Rada will be held.
The statement said that Yanukovych announced before time presidential elections, constitutional reform and the formation of a coalition government of Yanukovych due to his "duty to the people, to Ukraine and before God in the name of preserving the state , in the name of saving lives."
On the night of February 21, talks with participation of Yanukovych , Foreign Ministers of Germany and Poland , as well as opposition leaders Vitali Klitschko, Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Oleg Tyagniboka and negotiator of Russia Vladimir Lukin and Russian Ambassador Mikhail Zurabov were held, and resulted in an agreement between the power and the opposition. According to "Interfax" referring to a source close to the negotiations, Lukin refused to sign the final agreement of the parties.
