71 candidates for deputies have been approved
156 candidates for deputies were nominated in the early elections to the Milli Majlis on September 1, the head of this body, Mazahir Panahov, said at today's meeting of the Central Election Commission. According to him, one of the nominated candidates, upon his application, refused to further participate in the electoral process. The candidacies of 71 applicants have been approved. The documents of the others are under consideration.
To register an applicant as a candidate for deputy, at least 400 valid signatures of voters must be submitted to the district election commission in support of him. The nomination of candidates for deputies continues. At today's meeting, the CEC approved the plenipotentiary representatives of 7 parties - the Azerbaijan People's Party, the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, the Justice, Law and Democracy Party, the National Front Party, the National Independence Party of Azerbaijan, the Great Azerbaijan Party and the White Party.

Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
