Ali Karimli was abused by police officers. He talked about this on the air of the Internet television Osmangyzy TV.
According to Karimli, he was beaten twice in the police bus. So, the Popular Front Party leader was pulled by the hair and banged his head against the wall of the bus. And all this was filmed on video. Then Karimli was brought to the Khatai district police department and brought to a room resembling a bathroom with tiled walls. There, he was required to speak in front of a video camera and declare that he was stopping the fight against the Azerbaijani authorities.
When Karimli refused, he was thrown to the floor. He was held by hands and feet, and one of the people there crushed Karimli's throat with his foot so hard that Karimli began to choke.
Violent actions lasted about an hour, after which the pressure on him was stopped.
Then he was taken to the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he underwent a medical examination. Karimli was told that there were "no serious problems and the internal organs were not damaged," after which he was brought home.
Karimli said he will continue his political struggle for the democratic future of Azerbaijan and is ready to sacrifice his life in this struggle. He called on the people to unity and joint struggle.
However, Karimli was unable to complete the interview, as the presenter Sevinj Osmangyzy reported that the PFPA leader had the Internet turned off.
A bandage was placed on Karimli's left temple. -0-
