Aliyev and Putin discussed the situation in the region
Baku/14.02.23/Turan: A telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday evening.
"Prospects for the further development of trade and economic cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy and transport, were discussed in detail," the report says.
The current situation in the South Caucasus region was considered, further stated in the press release.
"The importance of consistent steps was noted in order to ensure stability and security on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. In this context, the mood for the unconditional implementation of the entire range of relevant agreements between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia at the highest level was confirmed," the message says.
It was agreed to continue contacts in various formats, the press service of the Russian president added.
According to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, the telephone conversation took place on Aliyev's initiative.
It should be noted that Putin-Aliyev conversation took place against the backdrop of a visit to the region by the special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Igor Khovaev.
