Aliyev discussed with Lavrov the Karabakh problem
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on July 11 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, who arrived in Baku for a two-day working visit. "We appreciate Russia's role in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict", said Aliyev, noting that the visit of the Russian Foreign Minister in Baku and Yerevan shows that Moscow is interested in the soonest resolution of the conflict.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry, announcing the visit of Lavrov, said that during the meetings in Baku will be discussed upcoming negotiations in the context of the continuation of the development of Russian-Azerbaijani political dialogue, will discuss topical issues of the bilateral agenda and exchanged views on issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement in the agreements reached at the recent summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg.
During the visit, Lavrov will also discuss issues on the agenda of the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which will be held in Baku in autumn, as well as preparation for the upcoming Fifth Baku International Humanitarian Forum to be held on September 29 under the patronage of the presidents of the two countries.—0—
