Americans Cannot Get Visas at Embassy of Azerbaijan for Months?
The newly appointed US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar will arrive in Baku within the next two weeks, the ambassador hiself told Turan's Washington DC correspondent.
On Wednesday, August 15, the diplomat attended a meeting of the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce in the US.
Some local Americans, Azeris and region-related analysts, attended the meeting.
The meeting and the ambassador's speech were off-the-rec.
At the same time, after talking to the ambassador, some of the attendees told Turan's correspondent that they are having difficulties with obtaining visas for business and personal matters to Azerbaijan.
Most of them said that the Azeri Embassy in Washington, DC delays their visa applications "for months".
"We hope that the new ambassador's efforts and activities in Baku will soon help find a solution to this problem", they said.
