Baku/25.12/23/Turan: The co-founder of the “Platform -3”, Araz Aliyev, was detained on December 23 with the use of physical pressure, Nemat Kerimli, the activist's lawyer said. According to him, Aliyev was grabbed by plainclothes men on the street and forcibly put into a car, hitting him. The activist was taken to the 24th branch of the Nizami district police department. His laptop was taken away. After that, a protocol was drawn up against him stating that he allegedly "used obscene language" and "disobeyed the police."
On the morning of December 24, the court sentenced him to 25 days of arrest under the Articles 510 (disorderly conduct) and 535.1 (disobeying the police) The Code of Administrative Misconduct. The lawyer said that he would file an appeal against the arrest and a complaint to the prosecutor's office about the use of physical pressure on Aliyev.
Aliyev's wife Gulara Ismayilova, in turn, said that pressure was also exerted on her. She was detained on December 24, when she held a solitary protest in front of the Interior Ministry building, demanding clarification of the fate of her husband, who disappeared on the evening of December 23.
