Argue between Sargsyan and Seidov in PACE
Strasbourg / 24.01.18 / Turan: Today the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, Samad Seyidov, accused the Armenian President of deceiving the international community and committing war crimes after his speech at the PACE session in Strasbourg. "Why did you not say anything about the genocide in Khojaly in your speech when you were leading the military formations in Karabakh?
Why do you ignore the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on the need to liberate Azerbaijani lands? "Said Seyidov after Sargsyan's speech. In response, Sargsyan advised the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, Samed Seyidov, to calm down and noted that "he was not a military leader, but a participant in a fair fight for the rights of Karabakh."
He also denied the "Khojaly genocide", to which Armenians have no relation.
"Why should we call genocide what was not a genocide and, even more so, was not committed by Armenia," he said. Further, he accused Azerbaijan of violating four resolutions of the UN Security Council.
In conclusion, he said that Azerbaijan wants to return Karabakh, but this is impossible.
"You openly declare: you need Karabakh without Armenians. It's impossible. This will never happen," Sargsyan said. Six delegates from Azerbaijan tried to ask questions to the President of Armenia, but the presiding judge referred to the lack of time. -02D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
