Command-staff exercises Shant-2018 started on the whole territory of Armenia. As reported by Armenpress, from 11 to 14 September the country will have a conditional martial law.
According to the scenario, Armenia "returns conditionally lost territories". An emergency meeting of the government was held under the leadership of Pashinyan. Artak Davtyan, chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, told journalists.
"We have returned all conditionally lost territories, according to the scenario of the Shant-2018 exercise. The enemy conducted maneuvers in the neutral zone, which we prevented. However, the frontier zone was shelled by artillery, with wounded and killed. The army is suppressing the firing points. At the moment, martial law has not been declared in the country, but the situation leads to this," he said.
According to Davtyan, all local self-government bodies are prepared for such a scenario in order to mobilize in time in case of declaration of martial law.
"The Shant-2018 national exercises are planned in nature and are aimed at preparing the state for defense and mobilizing training of state and military authorities during the repulse of aggression, checking the possibility of bringing to a high degree of readiness, increasing the level of cooperation and harmonious interactions," write the mass media in Yerevan.
Given the military-political situation that has developed around Armenia and the region, the conventional adversary and the situation in the scenario of the exercises are as close to reality as possible.
The command-staff exercise Shant 2018 is headed by the Prime Minister, and the Chief of the General Staff is the head of the Prime Minister's office. As reported by Armenpress, the director of the KNKO Information and Analytical Center of the Government Hovhannes Movsisyan told journalists at the headquarters of the Defense Ministry.

"Special monitoring groups will tell about the situation in the Azerbaijani and Turkish press, especially about misinformation," he said.
Baku has not yet expressed its attitude to the military exercises in Armenia, which openly threaten the security of Azerbaijan. -0--
